Is A 2 to 5 Year MLM Plan Realistic in 2009? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Webmaster
By Diane Cossie

With the endorsement of world famous personal finance experts such as Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump plus the ever deepening economic crisis millions of people have started searching for extra income sources and Multi Level Marketing is still a hugely popular way to start a home based business.

There are many examples of leaders within the industry demonstrating that six and even seven figure incomes are possible to achieve with very little start up capital and a whole lot of knowledge on how to market the business and prospect effectively.

Unfortunately the vast majority of people enter the world of Multi Level Marketing without having a basic understanding of how to generate leads or market their business either offline or online. This leads to frustration and large drop out rates within the first few months.

With over 97% of all network marketers still making an estimated $10 per week from their home based business it begs the question as to whether the 2 to 5 year MLM Plan is realistic in 2009.

The need for a second income cannot be overlooked for many households facing ever rising food and utility bills, falling house price values and job insecurities which look set to worsen. It is mystifying why so many people in need of a second income today opt for the long term 2 to 5 year residual income plan based on hope as opposed to something like a second job or a Direct Sales opportunity which are based on providing the solution to the problem of more immediate cashflow.

For those wishing to run the gauntlet, the odds are heavily stacked against you succeeding, the rate of success in only to be found in the top 1%. Multi Level Marketing opportunities have a wide variety of compensation plans but most average around a $20 dollar residual income payment for each distributor in your downline.

To replace a corporate style salary of $240 thousand dollars per year which is favourable enough to provide an excellent lifestyle and still be able to invest for your future, you would have to recruit 1000 distributors per year and have to replace any that leave. That is around 20 distributors per week, not allowing for the time to talk to ten people to get one which is the recognised average for the industry.

You will also be aware that you will of course recruit leaders from time to time into your team who will apparently explode your business for you, and that may be the case, although the odds are about one in 1300 of people you recruit.

What then tends to happen is you start to shrink your big goals and dream income inline with your new small pay days and as reality begins to bite your original 2 to 5 year plan extends to a 5 to 10 year plan as you realise that you are nowhere near your original target income.

There are many successful Multi Level Marketers using the internet to make more sense of those numbers and odds and are exceeding the kind of incomes most people can only dream about.

If your company is not teaching you how to build your business using the internet it is probably because they do not know how to themselves. If you looking to make that 2 to 5 year plan a reality then seek professional marketing training and start to follow the new leaders in the industry who are using the internet to make their plans a reality.
